My 97 E420 has been ticking for a while but since yesterday, it's ticking so loud that you could hear the car from a block away. It's quite embarrasing, and scary!! Sounds like a ticking bomb.
I'm going to follow the DIY guide in the "DIY Articles" section, but if you own a M119 motor and have done this previously, could you please post a complete list of all the parts I need to order? Both for absolutely necessarry parts and stuff that you'd recommend replacing. Thanks!!

ProV1x, I feel for you. It's very common on our '97 E420 around 100k miles. It happened to me right at 105k also. I hear it happens like clockwork. ALL You will need is 16 cam oilers/guides (8 per side) and 2 valve cover gaskets for either side. Around $300+ in parts, but around a $1200-1400 job @ the dealer for both sides. I'm going to attempt to do it myself also, but I hear you have to be careful, could very easily screw something up......
