oh f#*k!! i broke the oil dipstick..

while putting the engine cover back on, i managed to break the engine oil dipstick.. specifically the red plastic piece came off. any idea how much this part will cost??

You will need the entire dip stick. They are cheap at the dealers. However if the tinest piece ended up in the engine then you have a major deal and a possible engine problem that will really cost particularly if you run it like that. Better check the broken part and see if its all there including any parts of the rivet that I believe holds it on to the stick.

thanks sosh. only the top triangular piece broke off, the base and the seal are all intact. i'll pick one up at the dealer tomorrow
