E320 wiper arm help

Okay, I change wiper inserts and now wiper arm is stuck in 'retracted' position (away from the window) I'm afraid I'm going to break the arm trying to release it from that 'stop' position. I can't really see the stop that's holding it back. Can someone please help with this? thanks

Right, it retracts to the off-windshield position more easlily than it does in the reverse direction. The 1st time that happened to me I thought I had broken something, or would if I forced it back down. I have never tried lubricating the hinge, so thanks for the tip.

*That you do.

The arm takes more pressure than seems to be desired, but that's just how it is built.
