What do you think? It is hard to believe why MBZ can't regain its reputation! It is pretty obvious that they are using unproven parts and unreliable parts suppliers like ones from Turkey who can't even make decent MBZ 3 point hood star .
It is poised to lose important repeat customers. They need to wake up lot more and take care of current owners who could possibly say to MBZ good-bye for good!

It seems that they are spending all their R&D money on bringing out new product for the Chrysler division. Pushing the Dodge name in Europe and coming out with 1/2 a dozen all new models for 2007 including the 4 door Jeep Wrangler, Compass and Patriot. The Dodge Caliber and Nitro. Add the new Sebring, Avenger and Aspen and you've got millions of dollars the could have been spent on getting the quality of Mercedes to rival the *****. [sorry, I couldn't say the "L" word]

What's the deal with the stars made in Turkey? Curious....
It is a little disconcerting to see your car on the LEAST reliable year after year, but mine has only once given me any headache. And that turned out to be simply coils, plugs etc.
At 139,000 miles now, my E is doin' pretty well in my book. The SL is another story.

Many years ago MBZ used to buy 3 star emblem from swiss which never rust or bubble up. It lasted forever. Now they are buying from Turks. I just hope Turks have corrected their quality and reliability problems. MBZ is doing that to save cost!

i dont mind the $hitty reliability reports, in fact i'm enjoying the bad PR MBZ is getting coz it means the next used MB I'll buy (hopefully a 03-04 W220 S500 Sport) will have an even $HITTER resale value, on top of its current dismal depreciation rates!!!

I hate to see the unreliable reports on MBZ too. I have not had too many issues with my 01 E but it has had more issues than the VW it replaced. Then on the other side it may be good that the reliabilty reports are low as that is WHY I got my E at wholesale price.
