Think I'll change egr valve in my 97 e-420. Does it matter where I get it from or should I order from mb dealer? If it doesn't matter where I get it from does anyone know where I can get the best deal?
what makes you think your EGR valve is bad? yes a bad EGR can give rough idle problems, but it should also set off CE light, and also give stalling/hesitation when accelerating. I do not see any of those, so i think the EGR is not the problem in my car... perhaps the fuel pump???

My ce light is not on but I have some knocking noise in engine and occassional rough idle. Going to do cam oil line fitting project but did some research on knocking and came across this http://autorepair.about.com/cs/gener.../bldef_743.htm. Just figured this might be an easier option than cam oil line fitting project. But I am far from a professional. Do you think its a bad idea?
