I know BMW USA monitors BMW message boards, b/c when I owned Bimmers and posted about a problem I had, I was contacted by BMW USA offering help. Does Mercedes do the same?
Well now all I'm waiting for is for an MBUSA rep to show up at my door and offer to take care of the rust, cold start problem, pay for a few window regulators... j/k
Good to know that maybe some of our feedback could be making it to the right ears. I'll bet they monitor the areas that involve newer cars more than the older ones however...

All those common problems, rear window regulator, MAF, CPS, transmisson leak, harmonic balancer, cup holder, body rust, lousy paint job, lamp socket, etc. are unacceptable design and quality control problems at Mercedez Benz. Do they know those? I am sure they do but they are keeping quiet. What will they gain by keeping those problems quiet?
Best thing they can do for Mercedes Benz and their customers are to bite the bullet and repair all known problems at their expense so they can remain loyal.
I have owned MBZ more than 30 years but I am not happy with it anymore because of lousy quality control and their vendor control and selection. For an example, Turkey now make 3 star emblems for them and they don't even know how to do decent stainless steel treatment. They just chip and rust in due time!
I understand that mechanical, electronic parts go bad in time that's ok ... but never expected that much rust problems, MBUSA customer service sux ! I'm thinking BMW...
Hey SaMaS, don't rush to switch. According to JD Power, MB had turned a new page in its customer satisfaction, and for the E-class W211 customer satisfaction had jumped 95th place (out of 105) in 2005 to 28th place in 2006. BMW 5-series, however, dropped from #5 in 2005 to 45 in 2006.
So if you are serious about a BMW, good luck with that... See you back here soon with a new MB...

I will go back to MB for next car when they have corrected their quality problems. No wonder MB is losing money, cutting production and dealers are over stocked!
MB and 3 point star was once respected and loved in the industry and by all their customers. JD&P now says Hyundai has better quality than 3 point star!

Hyunday is number #1!!!...
...According to JD&P - but they not only evaluate the car quality, but also the level of service at the dealership.
So, Raylee177, are you picking up a Sonata soon? Better get is fully loaded, otherwise you will be missing about 75% of the features your Merc treated you too.
Most people driving MBZ have special something about the car, to own and drive, that includes me, tool. So obviously, I do not dislike the car. In fact, I love the car but it is just that I hate to see them let the 3 star go down in the name of cost reduction and profit.
If they are coming around with quality problems, I'll be the first one to stand and salute to them.
