You received some great responses on the brake job. I don't think I can add anything to the already posted items. Make sure you do replace the wear sensors - they are cheap
Thank you Greg, I just did my brakes! I did my 1970 Beetle and that was the proving ground for the "Big Girl". Saved me several hundred dollars. Thanks so much for the guide!

I have changed dozens of brakes and was fearing my E320 would be over-complex. It appears rather standard----this PDF is great, thanks for your effort.
Awesome!!!!!!!!
I’m changing brakes this weekend..............Very helpful, Thanks
Hey, gatonls, I knew you'd find us.
Take care and enjoy (stopping) the ride,
Greg

I think you mean that for the front calipers bracket mounting bolts, they are 17mm, not 7.
Glad you got it all taken care of.
No, I did mean the caliper mounting bolts. The caliper mounting bracket on my car is secured with 18mm bolts. The caliper itself is retained by two sliding bolts that have a recessed 7mm hex head. MB must have updated the design in later chassis with the Torx heads? Too many stripped hex ones??
I use the Mintex pads from autohausaz for my wagon and coupe (same front, slightly different rear caliper). Total cost is about $80 for pads, "anti-squeak" paste, and sensors for all four wheels. They don't have the hole for the sensor, but they do have the slot to hold the sensor. I just drill the hole for the sensor and it works fine.
