Having what appears to be an electrical problem. Sometimes the check engine light comes on and sometimes the SRS light comes on very dim. Also, when this happens, the lighter socket has no power. (I have Satelite Radio plugged in) I can get this condition to go away for 1)Check engine by turning ignition switch on and of about 10 times and ; 2) SRS by turning on the wiper which causes SRS light to glow bright and then shut off. Power is restored to the lighter socket. No codes are stored for any of these conditions although I did not take to the Merc dealer. (Someone told me that some secondary codes can only be read by Mercedes dealer- Is that correct?) Feedback I received from another forum suggested a problem with the "voltage regulator for diagnostic computer" Indictated that it was some sort of plug in module. I can't find any information on that or have a clue as to where it might be located. Any help is most appreciated.
