Hi guys.. all of you maybe still remmber when I asked a help in buying a used MB E-class.
Finaly I bought a 99" E320 lovley and Green.
I went to change the plugs becasue I don't know when they were fixed first time and it was a big surprise for me,, 12 platin-Plugs ~ 90 $ just buying them from MB dealer. plus about same for 8 L Engine oil and 8 L Gear Oil.
u believe that buying + fixing plugs & oils cost me about 230 $ .
I don't that it will go that far,, and how come that my 6-cylinder engine got 12 plugs two per each.
what is the difference between my car'a engine and others normal 6-cylinder? power? fuel?
please help me tell me more about this amazing car I just bought! and the world of MB that I just get in!!
I forgot to add that it looks like the old owner of my car was an asshole he just lost the two keys they gave me only one key without the metal key too..
Any way for me to make a dublicate one? which I don;t think so for the keyless key.
so How much it cost there guys buying new key from the dealer. my nearest dealer told me it will cost about 325 $ to get a new one from MB.
welcome to the W210 ownership experience and I hope you enjoy it as I do
The W210 is regarded as one of the best MB vehicles ever made, I have driven the M111 V6s and the M104 I6s and IMO I prefer the M104 because the way the power kicks in from first gear. Expect to invest alot into the car to keep it in such a pristine condition
for the plugs I recommend using either NGK Iridium plus or Bosch OEM ones, the Iridium plugs are much more powerful and efficient and the Bosch are perhaps the cheapest you can get while being OEM at the same time
Note that Bosche is the OEM company that supplies most of the parts for MB, so to keep your car in mint condition its recommended to use Bosch parts for the car, try using Mobil 1 Engine Oil and Transmission fluid because it has better viscosity and it heats up at a higher temperature than other oils
as for the keys I was told I would be set back around $260 for a spare smartkey which is quite hefty considering that you have to wait around a month to recieve the keys. But I'm hoping I can use the spare key more often
so tell us a bit more bout ur car so we can help you more
My engine is starting with '112' no M. it is made for Arabian Gulf use, bought orginaly from Garagash Co, OEM of MB in Dubai and North Emartis in UAE.
THe in engine is V type I think..
I saw many scratchs in the paint of the car also some little corrosion in very few places, I don;t know what should I do try to fix them or better repaint the car in a high very good paiting shop which will cost about $800-$900.

What should I do..
the V6s are M112. As for the scratches you can polish them off at any good waxing places. If these scratches are still there then I guess you will need to repaint it

The M112 V6 has 2 plugs per cyl but they don't fire at the same time. The second one is delayed to burn off any left over fuel to reduce the exhaust emmissions. They don't add any power.

I see..
So they added one plug more for each cyl just to reduce the exhaust emissions, not an easy thing i guss .
those guys really care about saftey and envirument.
whatever does it also reduce the fuel consumption? ALso how powerful my engine is? V6, 3200 CC in Horses?
thanks

Correct me Cruel_Storm, you sound like you just purchased a vehicle with no idea what you were getting into. Honestly, without trying to sound smart, didn't you even researcg the technical details of the E b4 you plunged your dollars into it? I know you said you asked for help from here, Was there any given? If not, shame on all of us for not giving you details. Then again, maybe we did and whatever happened!!
Yes, everything about these cars will cost you over $200. That's basic. And since changing the plugs is a surprise to you, I suggest you don't try DIY on these until you either consult here on what you plan to do or get a service manual/CD/DVD. Frankly, forget the manuals, etc. Just come here before you try anything b4 damaging something!!!
Your car's engine is no different from any other - it's still a 4-stroke gasoline powerplant. However, MB engineers have managed to take advantage of current lubrication and fuel technology to create an efficient high compression, precision machined engine that requires careful maintenance as detailed in the MB manitenance books. Stick with the recommended maintenence schedule and lubricants and you'll not have a problem - well, maybe some electronic issues, but rarely mechanical. Try to DIY with incomplete information and you'll be back to the dealership every week!!!

i bought mine used from a very reputable aftermarket dealer, and it only came with one key but they had promised me two. it took only 5 days for a local dealership in the boston area to code a new smartkey for me...just wondering why it took you a month?
