hi, all. I apologize if this info is already out there. But I think the search function on this site is a little weak.
Has anybody out there added an aftermarket turbo to an E300D? I've got a '96 that is dying for one. I saw one about a year ago from Turbonetics on autobarn.com but it is not there anymore. If I got to the Turbonetics site, it does not list Mercedes. I will probably call them, but I figured I'd check to see if anyone here has experience with Turbonetics or any other kind. I'm not aware of any chips for this car, either. Any recommendations would be great.
I would stay away from adding a unless you are ready to do a lot of work. You can't just stick a turbo on a car and voila it works. There are exhaust mods, control module meeds to be reprogrammed, intercooler, etc. As far as reprogramming your computer, there is Speedtuning USA website, that offers a flash to gain about 40hp at least it did on my '99 turbo.
