I did it on my C230 and it's great. The trickiest part is removing the old bulb, the rest is a matter of following the instructions, no wire cutting, nothing complex, maybe a half hour if you take your time. I got mine from Carlab in No Cal for $260 but I think they raised their price slightly.
My car has OEM standard headlights. Was curious if:
o anyone has changed it to Xenon or HID bulbs?
o how difficult is it and what's involved?

Hey, Pak. Search around and you'll see what's involved. For yours you'll actually have to remove the front*bumper, which makes it more of a pain on the newer chassis. You'll also find recommendations for brands, there's lots of junk out there so it ends up "looking cool" but the light quality on the road is no better if not worse.
Hay Pak, I too have been wondering about new or different headlights. Not very many 01 E430 owners for the exact experience but over all a whole lot of experience. I would be interested to see how they come out. I see a lot of deals on ebay for euro style headlights and new clear lens headlights, but have been kind of sceptical about them. Let me know.
