How do I turn off the lamp defective light? All of the lights work fine except the rear right fog light which I NEVER use. The wire actually broke to that fog light and i can' t bother to actually fix it. Since all of the lights work fine, I just want to turn the defective light light off. Is that possible?
Sometimes it takes a little while for answers to come, this is not a fast paced forum.
I don't beleive the light should come on until you activate the defective light. The lamp warnings are reset each time you shut off the car. It doesn't know a light is bad until you turn it on. If you make sure not to turn on the fog light you shouldn't get the warning. If you are not turning on the fog light but still get the warning, then it may be a different light causing the warning.
There is no rear right fog light unless you wired it in AFAIK. There is only a left rear fog light. Does the bulb out light come on when you step on the brake? The rear brake lights are a common problem on the car. Remember that there are three of them and you need to have the key on before they work. The bulbs tend to wiggle a little and lose contact with the bulb holder contact. If one of them is out, try wiggling the bulb and see if it comes on. I need to do that every year or so - beats buying a new housing.

oh, there is only a left rear fog light? I put in new housing of the newer style and all of my other lights worked, but I was wondering why the "right rear fog light" had a cap over it. So i thought that the wire was cut and they put the cap in to take the lamp defective light off. So I went to the dealer and bought another bulbn socket to lock into place where on the other housing there was a cap. I cannot get it to light up.. Also, the light warning comes on whenever I turn on the lights in the car. It doesn't come on with normal break use. I got out of the car and saw that all the lights are still working..

Yes, only a left one. No wiring even to the right...
Yes, it started when I replaced the housing. All of the tail light functions work. But I get the lamp defective light on. Turn signals work, real left fog light works, the inner light bulbs for night work, the brake light bulbs turn on when I press the brakes.
Note: The lamp defective only turns on when I turn on the headlights, meaning rear lights go on too. But The rear lights are turning on perfectly fine and I still get the lamp defective.
Although, I the new lights, there is a right fog light and I bought a new bulb and holster to put there. So there's that one that doesn't work, but shouldn't the lamp defective light only turn on if I use the rear fog lights then?
I learned a long time ago that when something goes wrong with my car that the first thing to think of is what did I do in that area that might have screwed something up. That's obviously what happened in your case and it is hard to diagnose long distance. Did you hook up all the wires including the ground wires correctly? Are you using the proper bulbs? I know that your problem likely lies in the rear where you just did the work, but since it does occur when you turn the headlights on, are you sure that all the front lights are working? Could be coincidental that something up front burnt out. Do your turn signals work? Do all of your side marker lights work? It's just going to take some detective work and trial and error I guess.
FYI. When you have a defect bulb outage the cruise control will not work. That is a MB safety feature. The other, kept thinking and playing with a brake light issue (I thought) but really ended up being one of two bulbs burnt out one under rear license plate and one on front side marker.
