The latest/greatest in a string of insults coming from my E430 is................. NO FRIGGING AIR CONDITIONING. I was driving along and suddenly I was quite warm. Then I was REALLY warm. I opened the windows and to allow in some "cool" 104F air (????!!!!).
I ran the onboard diagnostics in the AC display (available from the E Class website), and looks like refrigerant isn't the issue.
It's bad.
Can you say failed compressor clutch? OUCH. $150 remanufactured from Mercantile Europarts in Miami plus core exchange. New from them is $560. Still cheaper than the dealer though at $730. Now, we have a wrecked E430, no A/C, and a broken sunroof...............nice.
