99 E320 Service A light reset

Can anyone direct me to any previous threads that instruct how to reset service a light (1 wrench). You would think that after spending $3K the last couple weeks at dealer they would reset light, but they said they wont unless they did the service A. even though evrything has been done.

I did a search on Benz World and didnt find anything for 99 E320.

Thanks

Dominic

in your owner manual. if you cant find, try searching "FSS reset" or "flexible service reset"

Thanks for the link Raymond; the linkis for a 2001 with steering wheel controls; mine is a 99 without the same type of set-up. I will continue to search; if you happen to come across anything please let me know.

Thanks again for your help.

from other MB forums...

Turn on the key (door shut)
push the l/h cluster button twice to get the wrench on screen,
press and hold the button,
turn off the key for 5 seconds,
turn key back on all the while holding the button,
wait 15 seconds or so, it'll beep and reset to either 10k or 7500 depending on coding.

It should be in your owner's manual. On my 1998 E 430 the process is clearly explained on page-93.

Make sure your doors are closed.

1) Insert key into ignition and turn to position 2.

2) Within 4 seconds push button "0" button twice within 4 seconds or so to get the FSS to display and release.(this is the odometer reset button)

3) Within 10 seconds turn key to position 0.

4) Press and hold button "0" while turning the key back to position 2. Continue to hold button "0".

5) After approx 10 seconds a signal sounds and the display will show 10000 miles or 15000 km. Release the button.

Turn electronic key in steering lock to position 2.

Within 4 seconds press button "0" twice.

The present status for days or distance is displayed. Within 10 seconds turn electronic key in steering lock to position 0.

Press and hold button "0", while turning electronic key in steering lock to position 2 again. The present status for days or distance is displayed once more. Continue to hold button "0".

After approx. 10 seconds a signal sounds, and the display shows 10 000 miles (Canada: 15 000 km) for approx. 10 seconds.

Release button "0".

Hi everyone. I am a new member with a question. I recently purchased a 99' E430. Original owner didn't have an owners manual. I need to know what the L and W button by the gearshift do? what does it mean? Any comments welcome. Thanks

"w" stands for winter. It starts you off in 2nd gear for traction slippery weather. You want to use "S" for most driving.
