i would recommend the CD sold by MBUSA which has great videos on dismantling
various parts of the car (weekend mechanic stuff). it has approx dozen videos on
the dash and console alone showing highlights of sequence of steps to dismantle.
it does *not* convey the degree of difficulty and time it will take you to perform
these tasks .
Has anyone replaced the Cracked Dash on their W210? Wanting to get rid of this unsightly mess.

I'm not sure if it's in the stickies, but there is a repair that comes out looking great. And a WHOLE lot less work (with less rattles afterward).
Search around.
Good luck.

there are few videos on youtube, turn volume down though. know that you can repair the cracked dash making it look like new especially if it's black, all you need is 2000 grit sand paper, clear vinyl sealant, black bumper cover spray paint and few sheets paper to limit spray paint exposure.
Bravo! excellent write up from Suicidal4life. Luckily i have not had to do this yet but if i did i would want to do this my self in my garage. There are too many things that can go wrong, get broken, or get forgotten upon reassembly if a lot of time and care are not afforded. Most shops will just want to get the car in and out!
So there is no way to remove just the top vinyl pad portion?
Doesn't sound like it.
There are a series of threads over at peachparts about repairs, including a form-fitting pad that is supposed to look pretty good for around $130 (needs to be glued in and cracks flattened), and apparently there is a newer product from Leatherique for repairs and coloring.
Personally I'd exhaust the repair routes first, then go to the glue-on cap.

It is plain black so the color matching should be somewhat easier. Oh well.
