I'm looking at a '03 E320 wagon 45k milage for $24000. Still have 6mo. 5k factory warranty left . One personal owner, clean carfax report and autocheck report. Blk on blk.
This price, 24k, is even lower than the trade in value from both Edmunds and kbb. I will have it inspected tomorrow. It is sold by a reputable dealer so I think probably things will be fine. But its been on the market since Feb, makes me wondering...

Is this a very good deal? too good to be true?
It is a NY car. Will this be a concern?
New Mom, To me I think it's a good deal but you should always have the car inspected by your trusted mechanic because the car may have some major problems for it to sell that low. You should also try posting this on the W211 section. I'm sure the guys over there will have more answers for you.
I appears to be a W210 to me. Remember the S210 was extended until 2003 since W211s were not ready in wagon version yet, and came out a MY after.

This probably too late but has your dealer given you a CarFax on the car?
I have checked the carfax and it is clean. It has a 1'x5' scratch on the corner of the front bumper though. The dealer said it is easy to be touched up. But I doubt whether it could become a perfect fix.
Hi NewMom
I saw your thread from way back and was wondering if you got the e320 wagon for $24k?
I ended up buying a c320 wagon with 42k miles at a tad over $21k less a smart key.
I am loving the heated seats which I thought I wouldn't and as far as my wife is concerned she could car less about the rest of the car but loves the seats.
Take care,
agoodtoy
yeah thats a great deal...especially for a wagon...but its okie if there is still some factory warranty left...you should be fine...hmm well i am from NY so i really dont know what to tell you about a new york car...if u drive it every day...it means breaks are being used a lot cause traffic here its old news to us...but watch out be very careful when buying from dealers cause sometimes i am not saying all the time... people have serious accidents with the car...and cause insurance is so high in new york some people want a clean record and they give the car to one of these body shops and they fix it for them like nothing ever happened...without u knowing they ever had an accident ...and those body shops usually are connected with used car dealers and they get rid of the car very easily...so for the other person is not really so much loss of money cause it would come out like leasing for few years...but dont let this scare you...best thing get ur own mechaninc make sure electrical is all good..and get someone u trust from a body shop to see if there have been any noticable changes...its a good deal and good luck and be careful

I bought a used MB with a clean carfax report, and it turned out to have had some front end damage. As you stated Creative85, those are no guarantee.
In one of my other cars too, I crashed a fender and my insurance agent at the time told me what my new premiums would be if I claimed about a $700 job. 36 months of the higher premium was something like $2000, so I paid for it myself. By the way, that agent is history!
One last thing: I found a used 2002 E430 Special Edition that looked pretty good from the photos, and they were selling it pretty cheap. As that deal turned out, it had also been in an accident, rear-end this time.
That deal smells fishy to me, and I hope NewMom came out okay.

yeah carfax reports are garbage....gotta know ur stuff i got screwed on my first car...got a crazy deal but went to get my car waxed at this body shop and this dude told me your car has been in rear end accident...as Musikmann said depends on peoples insurance and no one really goes trough insurance lately cause the thing rises insanely..be very careful cause car could've been underwater, or bad accident...and u know urself mercedes parts are not cheap...so forget carfax and all that crap find someone who knows benz inside out thats the only way to find out if something is wrong..
