D0 20" Rims Fit A W210? Yes They Do!!!

I HAVE FOUND A LOT OF SO CALLED EXPERTS SAY THAT THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT DOING SOME CUSTOM WORK ON THE VEHICLE BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE!
I ALONG WITH MANY OTHER W210 OWNERS HAVE PUT "20 RIMS ON OUR BABYS (CAR) WITHOUT ANY CUSTOMIZING . DONT BE FOOLED, THEY DO FIT.

THE RIM SIZE I USED FOR MY w210 was 20"x 8.5" with low profile tires from tire rack. I was so shocked to hear so called professionals from Mercedes say that they would rub the wheel-well or hit the shock mounts. lol WHAT A JOKE!!! Whats even funnier is that i was foolish enough to try and sell my $5k 20" Giovanna Chrome rims for $500 only to have the buyer back out on the deal because some idiot told him they would not fit his W210 E320. I'm sure glad he did because i have decided to keep them and reinstall them back on my car and post pictures of it'll. I am how ever now selling my 18" chrome rims and tires for $800. to buy some tires for my 20" rims.

I will post pictures asap!!! And remember, dont be fooled by fools.

Here is a picture of a w210 on 20"s

i think you're being a little dramatic about this. of course folks are going to give
the safe answer. given a number of variables with suspension, ride height,
spring selection, spacers, offset, wheel width....tire size (!) etc etc it is likely
that the rims may not fit. that is a reasonably safe answer.

however, if you're looking for an affirmative answer and whether 20 inchers
will fit, sure.....you can find a combination of factors which might exists in which
the rims might fit. you did.

are the folks who answer 'no' fools and idiots? i don't think so. they answered
safely...likely...and conservatively. sometimes you just have to try and fit.

my friend has a W210 who's car did not accept a 20. bfd....he just kept trying
various ones until one did.

Raymond;

I agree. I've seen W210's with 20" wheels and tires; some fit, some really didn't, due to the lip on the wheel or even a lip on the tire. Sure, they could drive it but in reality they had to drive over speed bumps and pull out of driveways at 1/2 mile per hour! Did they fit? I guess you could say 'yes', but not very practical based on how they had to drive their vehicle in the real world.

I HAD 20"'s on my car and based on my own experience and not my friends,or a friends friend, etc.... i drove at 45mph street, 120mph on the highway, and drove over speed bumps and out of rive ways just fine. everything in the suspention of my car is stock.
I guess i could agree with you both inregards to the dealer being safe and saying they wouldnt fit due to leagal resons. but over all they fit great and if anybody wants 20"s they do need to to do thier home work unlike your friend, or they could just log on to this site and see over a hundred pictures of w210's on 20"s and read the fact sheets.

Safe driving to both of you, and may all your Benz dreams come true.

no big....peace, brutha. i could have worded my response more diplomatically,
but you know how it is when you're sneaking peaks at MB forums while at work,
ie, you type fast and dirty. but now I'm prompted to ask...since you've filled in
more details....what is the offset of your rims? also, what is the tire size(s)?

HAHHAAH... I do type fast don't i. I guess i could take more time and punctuate every thing I type but the truth is I log on only for a few minutes to help people or to fix my own problems with the W210's so i dont really worry too much about it. lol
In regard to your question "what is the offset of your rims? also, what is the tire size(s)?"

Rim size:
20"x 8.5"
45 offset
5 bolt pattern

Brand:
GIOVANNA

Tire size:
225/35 20 90y NEXEN

www.TIRERACK.com has a good deal on the Kumho ECSTA SPT (Ultra high performance tires) that will fit the rims size above too.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...10&RunFlat=All

The only reason I wrote that the dealer's were idiots was because they should give the customer all the facts so that the customer can make up his or her own mind. I remember them telling me I couldn't put TV's in my visors or head rests either but look and see for your self. Anybody who give's advice should really really do some homework before they say no to a question which they lack knowledge to, and anybody doing any type of upgrade should do some homework too.
These are great cars and can look even better with some effort and knowledgeable advice.

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!

As with many forums, folks offer opinions which may be construed to be information which, in fact, is misinformation. Those whom consider themselves to be "professional" in any field should feel obligated to produce facts, not opinions. Fact: Given the optimum offset/backspace, and wheel diameter, most 20's will fit most W210 E class vehicles. For that matter, so would 22's. But, there goes the ride factor. BTW, DETANE, those GIOVANNAs are sick. But, I have to admit 18's would suit me fine.

Well, it looks great. I wonder how it rides?

Had a friend put 19" wheels on an older 190E and loved the look but really regreted it because now it rode like a Mattel Hot Wheels. He could count every piece of gravel in the road through the seat of the pants.

I dunno, I'd be sure I was happy with the feel before the big investment.
