Careful WM has pan head 1/4 28 by 3/4, and the aluminum riv-nut that mb uses will tolerate that SAE size to about 4 inch pounds then strip out.
I have not seen metric fasteners at WM but I guess stores vary.
Having several vehicles and RV, I'd say getting stainless steel beats everything else.
Owning a motorhome I keep wondering why they used galvanized screws for all outside latches and brackets? For $4 saving the owners few years later have constant issues with it.
We have several ACE hardware places in our county with good selection of SS and other fasteners. I even got metric fender clip for my John Deere tractor.
