To reset, simply turn off the engine & re-start it. this should reset the warnings, if not have it check to the shop who did your brakes, they should cover that if you just had it done recently.
I noticed that you have two posts about the ABS/ETS lights so I have posted a procedure for you to fix it.
In most cases the fault is due to a faulty brake light switch, which is under the steering wheel, above the brake pedal. It is a NC switch and has a ratchet plunger, the switch is linked to the rest of the closed loop system, including the ABS sensor (hall effect) on each wheel and the speed sensor on the drive shaft. The purpose of the switch is to just connect when the brake is pressed and turn the rear lights on, but it gets worn, and is delicate to current.
Buy an original and not an aftermarket as I had problems with the non OEM part, and they only cost about £14 from Merc anyway.
you'll prabaly find if you turn the car off and then on the lights go out..! so try it and see if they come on when you push the brake pedal, which would indicate the brake switch at fault.
Heres the procedure to fix and replace the brake switch:
How to replace the Brake Switch:
mrwilliamsburg....
First you need to remove the underside panel of the drivers panel:
There should be 4 Phillips screws you need to undo first.
1 near the bonnet release.
2 near the front the opposite side to bonnet release.
3 underneath in middle
4 at the back above pedals.
With these screws removed you need to pull the tray towards you as there are clips on the front under steering wheel. Then near the centre console you need to pull downwards as there are 3 clips there also. That should be it!
To remove the Brake Switch:
I found it best to put the seat right back and lie almost on your back on the floor. The swithc is located above the brake pedal at the back. On the top of the brake switch in the 12 o'clock position, there is a little plastic catch, which you need to depress and then at the same time turn the switch clockwise a quarter of a turn. You may find it easier to unplug the two wires first. Once turned you can remove the switch.
Pay attention to the length of the actuator (plunger),as it is on a ratchet system and your new switch needs to be the same length, otherwise it will not operatet properly.
Use an original Merc brake switch and just rotate the sitch anti-clockwise this time to fit back in the mounting.
luck, and I hope it fixes your car.!
FWIW - I had recurring ABS/ETS warning lights on my '97 E420, read the post about replacing the battery (and mine was old - though it started the car with no problem in this southern climate) anyway, I put in a new battery (easy DIY project) and the ABS/ETS warning light problem has never recurred. Sounds curious, but it completely resolved the issue for me.
...Great, hope it all gets fixed for you... i had the problem for 7 months unitl I found the fault, then as if by magic, my ABS, Traction control, Cruise ctrl all worked again...
No joke I've had this same damb problem for 2 years now! I've had two different mechanics replace the switch with almost no luck at all. Either these guys are not using factory mercedes parts, or my car has a bug. I do have a pretty bad wheel vibration problem most likely caused by chrome wheels but if thats not it then I have no clue. Glad to see things working out for the rest of you guys though. I guess ill tell you if the bug ever goes away...

Replace & change your Battery. If your battery voltage was dropping down under 10 volts at times which is the threshold for the ESP/BAS system according to the Owners Manual.
Thanks Guys!!!! Problem Fixed And Saved So Much Money!!! The Part Was Only $14. And It Took Me Only 1hr To Complete The Job... It Was So Easy!!!
The Battery Is Fine And I Found Out From The Dealer That Is One Of The Deffects That They Keep Hearing About. He Also Told Me That The Tail Light Assemblys Cause The Switch To Burn Out. He Said The Assemblys Were Made Wrong And Cause A Short.. Its Funny He Said The Because Now I Know Why My Lights Keep Burning Out Along With My Tail Light Fuses.
