Anybody have any suggestions on interior lighting for E-320 210 chassis?
I find that the lighting near the floor wells in the front and back, and on the doors are to dim at night; Has anyone ever changed their interior lamps????also if you put a brighter bulb ie. higher watt; would it damage/burn out the bulb holder?
i wouldn't do the door lights, but they have clear and brighter one for the overhead, a place near me make xenon bulbs conversion for the overhead, looks cool, but i have not try them in my car, so i can not give you a tip on safety. good luck
Thanks for the response, I have never heard of xenon for the inside?
I think the overhead is bright enough!! I was more interested in making the floor/foot wells brighter; If you drop something at night is too hard to find just by looking, and turning on the over head while driving is not such a good idea
Xenon is simply gas inserted into the bulb to keep the bulb cooler, thus extending
the life of the bulb. Xenon functions under both non as well as filament bulbs.
Note, however, that there are LEDs replacement bulbs which will also function
in these interior light fixtures. You might see them advertised as "festoon" bulbs
as they have a festoon, ie multiple LED array within the same size light fixture.
Bear in mind, should you opt to try the festoons, that you may/will need to toss in
a resistor in there as well, so as to fool the car's 'bulb out' warning into thinking
everything is okay. (LEDs present far less resistance than incandescent bulb).
do a search for LED bulbs on MBworld and u will see my posts in the W140 section. I was one of the first to do these and it made a world of a difference.
