suspension bumping/rattle noise
Any suggestions on where my noise is comming from. I just purchesed a 98 E320, 95K miles. While driving over small bumps or slowly over a rough section I hear a bumping/ rattle coming from front right side. Sounds like a loose sway bar, but upon inspection all "?seems?" tight> shocks, spring, exhaust, sway bar. There is no noise while pushing on fender and there are NO squeeks...just sounds like someone is lightly tapping on passanger floor board with a hammer??????????????????
Thanks,
S

RE: suspension bumping/rattle noise
I have the same noise. Am taking it in this week. Will let you know what it is.
I suspect mine is a worn sway bar link, shock mount, or exhaust rattle.

RE: suspension bumping/rattle noise
Mine turned out to be a bad shock absorber. Unfortunately, parts & labor for the 4Matic front shocks are $$$.
