Hi all..
My blower is not functioning at all at any speed setting. Took out the blower and connect it to external 6v supply (battery). The motor wont spin on its own unless given a little push to get it started but once spinning, the movement is not smooth..its jerking..does this means that the motor is faulty..any way to rebuild it..? what is the cost of a new motor in UK..
thanks

RE: '99 w210 blower not functioning
Did you connect directly to the motor or through the regulator chip? The regulators are a know problem with the e-class. I have not heard of the motor going bad before the regulator. It is mounted on the fan assembly.

the battery was connected directly to the motor with the regulator removed..based on the previous post in the forum, what I undertand is the blower would still be functioning but at a very low speed if the regulator is faulty..in my case the blower not functioning at all...(all fuses are okay..different voltage detected at the motor terminal (after the regulator) when the speed control was turned from low setting to high setting)..

The motors are easier to come by because when they are swapped out for the regulator being bad, one is left with a good motor. I have one in a box that is just the motor and fan with the regulator removed. You will probably end up replacing the motor becuase they don't look like they can be rebuilt.
