Broken Ignition cylinder, Cant turn key, Any Help???

Recently I gave the guy at my body shop the valet key to start my benzo while in the shop. When I picked the car up, I tried to start the engine with my regular IR key (switch blade type) but found it very dificult to turn the cylinder, It takes some real good giggling around.

There seems to be something broken down inside the cylinder, its becoming harder and harder to get the ignition to turn. Am I in big trouble here? any help would be greatly appriciated.[?]

RE: Broken Ignition cylinder, Cant turn key, Any Help???

You are probably going to need to have it replaced before it will not turn at all. I had this happen to a 190E. Eventually it snapped when I turned the key and stayed in the accessory position. I could not get the key out or start the car. With the W210 E-Class, they can pull just the tumbler section out with a special tool and check it out. If they find pieces of metal inside, they will have to replace the cylinder or ignition switch assembly.
