H6wWLED

Hey guys, has anyone replaced there H6W (citylights) on their 2000 E320 with these new 6 LED citylights that are used stock on the VW Golf R32? If so, how are they and are they safe to use?
They are labeled as BA9 / H6W bulbs on the this website www.ultraleds.co.uk

Thanks in advance.

RE: H6wWLED

I used an LED setup on my VR6 a few years back and there wasn't any problem (As long as you cave the correct resistance you shouldn't have a bulb failure warning)

RE: H6wWLED

I just ordered some 6-led 25w led bulbs for the city lights, will let you know how it turns out, with pics. If it goes well, will replace turn signal and parking/stop bulbs with leds as well. They rarely blow out, run cooler, are brighter, and are instant on/off. Plus, they look really neat (that's the real reason I like them)[;)]

Hey crsh, just to be sure, are they just plug and play like the stock bulbs? Where did you purchase yours? They look very nice. Thanks in advance.

Those would be really close to the stock HID color. If you install a resistor you would be able to get around the bulb warning.

RE: H6wWLED

Load resistor or bulb in parallel will take care of the warning.
Here is my city lights single blue led's they look very blue up close, from about 10ft they match well.

RE: H6wWLED

I own a 1999 E320 4Matic and my left parking/city light just burned out, and i want to replace both of them with LEDs (like most other people). I looked at a couple of sites and none of them mentioned what type i need. One site said i need 194/168 bulb types, but those are wedge shaped, and dont fit in the socket. Any way, i was wondering if the 1156 or 1157 type bulbs are the right ones, b/c the look like they would fit in the socket. I found good ones at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-HID-WHITE-24-LED-TURN-PARKING-LIGHT-BULBS-1157-2057_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33713QQitemZ804038 4978QQtcZphoto

but im not sure if they fit. Also i need help on finding the right type of resistors to stop the 'lamp defective warning.' Any help would be appreciated. THanks!
