Haha! My left CAT is destroyed...

its not really something to be laughing about but i find it kinda funny. so, today i was driving my car and as i was pulling into my college, the rumbling of my exhaust got about 200% worse. Turns out that i busted my CAT completely right by the welding. Im getting my CAT replaced first thing tommorrow so i decided that i might as well enjoy my car the way it will be for the next 24 hours [:D]. Anyways, the moral of my story is that as i was driving, make car would be soo loud that about 90% of peoples heads turned to see such a mercedes sound like a nascar racer. I found it kind of funny and amusing for this short time. Well, you only live once, enjoy it.[;)]

P.S. I realize that this situation is not something to laugh about. but since there was nothing else i could do about it, I decided to have fun! and fun being disturbing the peace with this loud exhaust leak.

Your CAT might be under warranty. Check it out.

It should be covered under warranty, mine was.

It shredded itself internally and went into limp mode. Wouldn't go over 40km/h.

RE: Haha! My left CAT is destroyed...

well, the bad thing is that my car is not under warranty, the good thing is i am a manager and a partial owner of a salvage yard with 50% of its inventory being european parts. I have the part in my inventory, plus my car was an insurance auction car that i reassembled. (it had a a fuse box electrical fire, had to replace the whole engine harness and partial body harness) so therefore, warranty does not exist for my car.... but anyways, its getting taken care of, i just wanted to let you guys know about my 24 hours of fun that i had. [:D]

It was pretty funny when you see people turning there heads to see such an abnoxiously loud E-Class. haha...

If you find another set for W210 in your yard, I'll buy them from you. Seriously.
I'm pushing 90k miles, so it's only a matter of time before I need replacements.

In Canada, emmissions components are covered under warranty for 8 years/unlimited mileage.

You might want to check that out with MB USA, I bet it is covered, even if your regular warranty is up.

In the US, the law is 8yrs/80,000 miles. I think.
