Sorry to hear that. I like the star but someone was messing with mine, so I replaced it with the flat one before they had a chance to break it off. I was more worried about collateral damage to the hood than the star itself. Jackals.[}:)]
At any rate, there are a couple of alternatives. One is the flat badge kit, lots of folks do that. The other is to buy the modified star that lets you pop it out when you park the car, but then you always have to remember to do that. I don't think either is available through the dealer, it's all aftermarket. I think they're all pretty much in the US, too, but maybe some of the folks in the forum over in your neck of the woods would have a more local source. You might try a post in the for sale forum.
thank you alot greg. tomorrow i ll start to search my local dealer. if they have a flat badge i ll buy. original equipment is so expensive in turkiye. :( i hate those star jackals. do you know any internet adresses whose selling these kind of parts?
The flat badge itself is just the one on the other models, like the M or SLK class. You need a kit (like the one on e-bay) or some ingenuity to install it in place of the raised star. The stupid badge itself is just plastic, I think I paid like $7 for an OEM one online, so even at the dealer it shouldn't be more than $12-$14 US. I went the ingenuity route, cost me about $4 in parts to get it installed.
