I bought nearly new 225/15/16 2005 E320 Rims and tire to fit into my 2001 E320 for $699. Mercedes changed its lug nut size to 14mm by 1.5 by 21mm.
Where can I find the 12mm Mercedes ball shape lugs? I shall appreciate your help.

RE: Lug Nut 12mm X 1.5 X 21mm
It is not recommended that 2005 W211 rims are installed on a 2002 or older W210 for that very reason. The head size of the bolts are biggers as are the holes in the rims. A 12mm ball head has a different seat than the 14mm so it will fit in the hole but only hold on about half of the seat. You would have to take a set of 14mm bolts and machine them down to fit the 12mm holes or drill and tap all the holes in your car up to 14mm. I would suggest you sell the rims and go for a look alike style that are made with the 12mm holes and seats to be safe.

E-Klasse,
Thank you so very much for the information. I found a 12mm X 1.5 X 21mm from after-market store so I was going to go for it but now I should change my mind.
Thanks again.

RE: Lug Nut 12mm X 1.5 X 21mm
21mm is kind of short as well. Almost sounds like the spec for a spare tire bolt. The standard wheel on the W210 takes a 39mm length bolt. The spare wheel is thinner that the standard one so it will take shorter bolts.
One rule about selecting the length is getting 6 turns before it is snug. Any more than 6 turns and the bolt goes through and sticks out the back side and could hit the parking / emergency brake assembly in the back or bottom out in the front with the wheel not being tight. With any less than 6 turns there will not be enough bolt holding the wheel on.
Thanks again for your kindness.
With the rims I bought it is taking 14 X 1.5 X 21mm stock.
I tried out corn shape 12 X 1.5 X 23mm. It is slightly touching something, I suppose it is touching rear brake. It looks like if I only had 21mm, it will work.
My question is now, is it safe to use 12mm in place of 14mm?
Thanks again, in advance.

RE: Lug Nut 12mm X 1.5 X 21mm
It all depends on how much of the ball makes contact with the seat. It is not safe or recommended if it is not holding on with enough surface area in the seat.
I have a set of 14mm lug nuts with the bigger ball seat that have been cut down to the 12 mm threaded shaft. I used them for my 210 wagon (2002) with 211 wheels. Let me know if you are interested in buying them.....they are not cheap.
dbarakat,
You have confirmed that 14mm cut down to 12mm will work. That is a good news for me. Thanks. I have ordered full set but I am not sure if they will send me right one with MBZ ball seating.
I might want to buy your set. How much do you want for the full set of 20 pieces?
Send a message to Rolf at radgmbh@radgmbh.com as they make custom lug bolts for apparently an excellent price. You'll have to pay more for shipping since they're coming from Germany, but that's by far the easier course (and even with the shipping it's still LOTS less than they'll cost otherwise). How I wish I'd had his info when I went through this last year!!
What you'll get are 12M lug bolts with 14M ball seats, which is what you need to properly mount the 211 wheel on the 210 chassis.
