I'm sure I can get an answer to this from my dealer, but thought I'd pose it to the board before I ask the local guys.
I noticed the other day that my passenger mirror LED blinker was not working when I remotely locked/unlocked the doors. I played with the blinkers and the hazard lights and the LED's are acting like they are burned out.
This evening I removed the mirror cover and the LED assembly. I turned on the hazards and whipped out the OHM meter....sure enough, the voltage at the connectors on the mirror was fluctuating on and off. My LED, of course, would not illuminate.
So...what's the dealer gonna try and sell me? A complete mirror assembly? Mirror cover? or just the LED lens.
LEDs genrally don't "burn out" like light bulbs. The Light should be a simple circuit of a series of LEDs and some current limiting resistors. If you are any good with electronics repair, or know someone who is, it could be an easy, and cheap fix.
Go ahead and price the part first though. I bet it's gonna be pricey.

Just a wag...that whatever they try to sell, with labor,
it'll be costlier than aftermarket LED mirror cover. But
then again, it'll depart from the OEM look. The after-
market will, however, come in design which may appeal to
you. Some have longer light bar compared to MB issued
lights. So depending on taste and choice of style, you
now have a little flexibility.
Well, I decided to swing by the dealership today and pick up a replacement LED. Not too bad, but not dirt cheap either. $55 after tax. I installed it tonight. Before I attached the LED lens to the mirror cover I plugged it into the bare connector first just to check the circuit and make sure I wasn't completely wasting my time. Of course, it worked like a champ, so I removed and replaced my existing "burned out" LED (or so I thought).
When I reinstalled the mirror cover with the new LED lens it didn't work. YGTBSM!! I had just plugged it in before installing it to make sure it worked. So I start playing with the connector and sure enough, it's a little finicky. You probably know what's coming next...I plug in the old LED (out of the mirror cover) and it works great. Hmm...I tried that last night with no success.
After some finagling, I have the old lens back in the mirror cover, installed, and working again. I hope the dealer will take the new lens back or I'll have a spare. It's Christmas time, maybe they won't be too strict on that electrical parts return policy. [:o)]
