Hello,

Brand new to the site. Just purchased my 1st MB. A 2001 E320 with 48500 miles. Beautiful car. Anyway, the factory warranty is no longer in effect and wanted others opinions on extended warranties.

Also, who's extended warranties have you used, how is the service, etc.

My '01 E320 just had the warranty expired. Now, I have a bad alternator, Dealership quoted the repair to be over $800.

The problem is when something goes -- your wallet goes next.

I think an extended warranty is serious piece of mind with the expensive parts on these cars -- and their willingness to cough up and die at the worst time.

I purchased Heritage from my dealer 4 yr 48K for $2950 but someone told me they raised their prices after they saw how much these cars were costing them.

Google for extended warranty, there are a few of them -- but check for bad feedback on them before slapping down the cash.
