Hello, i was wondering if someone could explain to me about spring pads. I am going to use eibach springs to drop my e-class and kind of understand that there are different spring pads infact using different pads could drop yor car even more. What is the best spring pad for the lowest drop?
There are five thicknesses of these rubber pads that MBZ uses to level the car/ride height. I believe they start at 8mm for the #1 pad and the #5 is 23 or 28. You'd have to first find out which ones you have to see if you can drop it further by the pad as it's possible you might have some #1s.
The pad sits right atop the spring between it and the perch, there are little raised bumps on the perimeter of the pad. 1 bump is the #1, 2 is #2, etc.
Obviously if you're looking for the most drop you'd want the #1 pads if you don't already have them; call your dealer and they can get them for you.
