BAS-SRS-ABS Alert

Anyone have an idea what could cause the BAS-SRS-ABS warnings to appear after driving a few miles? They go away after shuting the car off but reappear after driving again. I had the same 3 faults appear when the battery went dead, so I ended up having to have a shop reset the computer.

RE: BAS-SRS-ABS Alert

It could be a faulty brake light switch, a common problem and simple repair. It happened to my E430.

RE: BAS-SRS-ABS Alert

I think you should read the thread regarding to resync after battery is dead/disconnected/replaced.

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1198710&posts=6&fid=17

quote from that thread:

"Synchronizing ESP:

If the power supply was interrupted (battery
disconnected or empty), the BAS/ESP malfunction
indicator lamp may be illuminated with the engine
running. Turn steering wheel completely to the left and then to the right. The BAS/ESP malfunction indicator lamp should go out."

RE: BAS-SRS-ABS Alert (Problem Solved)

I also had BAS-SRS-ABS alert before. I took it to the dealer and it was under warranty repair.

Just in case that it came back again, did you replace the brake light switch by yourself or by a dealer?

Where is it?

RE: BAS-SRS-ABS Alert Problem Solved

I fixed it myself. It is located next to the brake pedal. You have to remove the cover under the drivers side. There are 4 screws. Remove the screws and pull the panel loose. It just snaps into place.
