RE: Need Help: CD Changer install (No Changer message after installing changer)

I will look for it this evening. Atleast now I know what to look for. Thanks for the picture. If I can find it, I will hook up the CD changer to the Audio 10 I bought yesterday. The more the merrier:)

Thanks Raymond.

hmmmm....if you've not installed MC3010 already,
which head unit were you trying to hook up changer to
all along? for some reason i thought you were trying
to connect to 3010 all along.

RE: Need Help: CD Changer install (No Changer message after installing changer)

Here is what I was doing. Right now my car has the stock MB Radio/cassette player in the dash. The didn't come with a CD changer so I bought one. I was doing the same thing I had done with my 97 E320 and that is, looked for the wires and connect and mount the CD changer in the trunk.
Now in this 2002 4Matic as said earlier, I am unable to locate the fiber optic connector. I was able to find the power connector.
After wasting my time, I have given up on installing thr changer and have purchased an Audio 10 in dash CD instead. And if I am not wrong, it is a 5 minute job if you have the headunit removal tool and mine is going to come with it.

Now, here is something interesting I found yesterday. After I disconnected the battery terminal and connecting it back, I ended up with 2 Malfunctions. One was for the ABS and the other one was for the Brake line (or something). I read through the owner's manual and it says that if one of these malfunctions show up, it could be that the battery is not fully charged. I took the car out for a spin in the neighborhood and by the time I got back, the 2 malfunctions had stopped flashing on the dash but 2 Malfunctions warning was still there. I turned the car off and started it back up and it was gone.
I was wondering as to why this happened. I just thought of sharing it with you all.

Take care and thanks for all your help. I have already put the changer up for sale on Ebay and am waiting for my Audio 10 to arrive. Will keep you posted. If anyone is interested, I purchased my Audio 10 from:
http://www.perfectmarketaudio.com/

for $399

Take care

Paul
