EGR valve - Benzworld.org

My OBDC code reader is telling me I have an EGR error. I looked around the internet and found prices for EGR valves varying from $20 to $120. What accounts for that difference - is one just a flapper valve and the more expensive ones have the solenoid as well?

And do I need more than just the simple flapper valve, or do I need a solenoid unit as well?

Car runs fine other than the CEL.

Try taking it out and cleaning it. That may fix it if it's sticking. Try castrol super clean to clean it.

This week the Check Engine light has gone out and stayed out without my doing anything to the car. No codes showing up on the OBDC reader.

Just gonna leave well enough alone til the next problem pops up.
