Have the code read to see what your are dealing with...
Disconnect you battery for 10 minutes and see if it comes back...

It happened to my 97 E420 twice within 6 months last year and both times the CEL were caused by bad ignition coil on top of the spark plug. I have 2 new coils now and waiting for the other 6 to go bad soon!
