Unlikely. If you pull aside your left rear trunk liner and miraculously see bright twin, orange fiber harness,
that's what is needed. But for the most part, 98 did
not come equipped with fiber optic changer.
98 E320 definitely does not have fiber optic. I have a 98, and put in the stock Mercedes 6 disc changer. Check out Ebay. Got mine for $100, like brand new. Don't bother if it doesnt come with the mounting bracket. I just drilled an extra hole and cinched it down with cable ties.
Mostly the teams my kids play on. I coached my daughter's team to the California state championship in 2000. This year her team made the NAIA Final Four and my son's team made the National Championship game.
Did you find a CD changer yet? There are quite a few on ebay.

Yep. 170 from a local dealer in NJ. Thx for the help and good luck with the teams, though it doesn't sound like you all need it!
Correction, both of my W210's are 1998's, one early and one late, the early one is on normal cables, while the later one uses a fibre optic connection.
One of the easiest ways to check what changer you need is to see if you car has an "Audio" series stereo (audio 10 or Audio 30) or a "mercedes-Benz" series (exquisite, etc). The audio series use fibre optics, the others don't.
(this info is for future reference since you have already purchased yours)
