Brand of brake pads?

I have drilled and slotted roters on my 1998 e430,I only got 9000 miles on the frist set of pads and now my brake lining light just turn on, at 8500 miles both sets where factory Mercedes, I know slotted rotors wear out pads quick my question is any brand that will last longer with slotted rotors? And also without brake pad black dust I am sick of cleaning the front rims every day.The cars stops every well so I dont want to put the stocks rotors back on.I also looked at my back pads they been on 17500 miles also with slotted roters and there are at leats 50 % good. Thank you, Frank

RE: Brand of brake pads?

Any of the higher-metallic or harder compound pads will provide longer life, but they won't work as well until they are up to operating temp. The harder compounds will also reduce brake dust.

Stoptech, porterfeld, ebc, axxis are all good.

Thank you, but does anyone have axxis pads with slotted rotors? And how do you like the set up?

I have Crossdrilled/Slotted Rotors with AXISS(Semi-Metallic) Deluxe brake pads on my 00 BMW M5 and 98 VW Beetle. The AXISS Pads eliminated about 85% of the brake dust in both cars, rotor friendly- other harder compound pads would wear your Rotors faster, absolutely good performance. I will replace my W210 pads with AXISS very soon. BTW, did i mention AXISS has the best price out there-- Porterfield, Stoptech, etc= premium prices.[;)]

Where to Buy

There are lots of places on line but they don't all carry all of the varieties of Axxis pads (i.e., some don't carry the ultimates, etc.).

I got my ultimates from Evobreed, he sells primarily off of ebay but he is in SoCal. He had the best price on a full set (F&R) and was very good to deal with.

You can also simply search the web, that's what I did initially before deciding on Evobreed. There are many places out there.

Very helpful, and carry just about any brand you can imagine, and then some.

TRINET MOTORSPORTS (Huntington Beach, CA)- (714) 757-4547 ask for Vic. They have the AXISS Pads and Drilled/Slotted rotors(very good quality/great price).
