how to remove front plate holder?

I need to remove the US-size front plate holder on my '99 e320

there are 2 longish screws that go into the bumper, but there are also two plastic clips that go into the lower fascia just below the bumper and I can't figure how to unclip them. Anybody know how to pry those out before I break something? I'm sure once out it will seem obvious, but right now nothing seems to work. They don't feel like they are screwed or really stuck in, I just can't find the right way to pull them out.

never mind... clips were stuck but did come out after all.

just curious what color is it? my car does not have one....willing to sell it?

It is silver (I think the car color code is 744, "brilliant silver").
