just picked up a 2000 e320 black on black w/ 60km for 3000 taxes in.

i meant 30000.sorry.get a uvip from the ministry. check if there are any liens on the car through the ministry and whether there were any accidents. oh yea and find out if it is salvage or not.

I have a 98. As far as I know, the 4Matic system is completely bulletproof. Haven't heard of anyone having trouble with 4Matic. (The 4Matic used on the older E's is a different story.)

Make sure the A/C and all the electrics work. You'll probably want to replace the harmonic balancer, since those fail unpredictably. Check for rust under the door seals and near the trunk latch.

You might have read already about the callback to replace the HB. If it's PN 112 035 00 00 or
112 035 06 00 they'll replace it N/C and if I remember correctly that extends back through all the model years where those two PNs are found. I think someone has posted full info here.
