The 97 airbag will not fit. The one you want should be listed as fitting Mercedes W129, W140, W208, W210, W202, 94-99.
You need the back to look like this: 
It looks like the pictures you posted are for the new style airbag. The facelift 2000+ airbag is different with the multifuntion buttons on it.
