Hello i need so suggestion on a problem on my
MB E300Turbodiesel-99
The engine has som ticking noise between 600 and 1200 rpm , over this speed the engine runs whitout noise.
I have changed all fuel inj. nozzles but the problem is still here.
Is there some engineers out there who knows what tis can be ???
Where does the sound come from? Front of the engine, bottom, head? The possibilities are endless. You might want to take off the oil cap and make sure that the timing chain looks perfect. Any sign of wear could indicate that the chain has a defect. A defective chain could snap at any time. Given that you replaced the injectors, I suspect that the sound must have been in the area of the had. In which case it could be a sticky hydraulic lifter.
