buying a 2001 e320 sport...anything to look for?

i am probably going to buy a 2000/2001 e320 possibly an e320 sport....what should i look for when buying as far as problems.

looked at a 2001 e 320 sport w/ navigation 60,000 miles.guy wants $23,000 without negotiating yet..hows that price? thanks for any help

Find out where he has it serviced. Take it to another dealer. Talk to a salesman about trading it in. See what they say. Better yet. Take it to a Lexus or Infinity dealer. Ask them how much to trade it in on one of their cars. See what they say.

...at 60k make sure you change the Harmonic Balancer if the previous owner didnt replace it yet.

Did you pump the mileage, color, equipment, year, condition, etc. into the evaluator at edmunds.com (for one...there are others) to see what it's worth to sell or buy, or to use as a trade? Useful info.

I've seen folks mention a harmonic balancer several times on the forum. Can you enlighten me and tell me what it is, what it does and why it needs to be replaced.
