I am curious to know how prone to theft the E class is? Given the fact that the E class introduced the Electronic Key Ignition a few years ago, does this mechanism make the E class less prone to theft?
Has anyone heard of these cars being stolen by "hot-wiring" the ignition?
I AM NOT TRYING TO LEARN HOW TO STEAL THESE CARS - I ALREADY HAVE ONE!!!!!!!!!
I just need to know whether I need to invest in a supplemental alarm system.
been a police office for over 13 years and never heard of one being stolen with the new key....except when a valet stole the ladys extra key from the buyers book.
btw,that car had a speaker in it for the service and mercedes on star led us right to the exact location of the car and even told us there was two guys sitting in there talking (they were caught).
so lesson learned is REMOVE YOU VALET KEY FROM YOU GLOVE BOX
