AWD777 - You literally removed the cluster without taking the dash apart at all?

Cluster

just pulls out with the cluster hooks,no need to pull the dash apart.
I have the cluster hook and radio/climate control key set $32 delivered.

ohlord - would you recommend unhooking the battery before removal? I will need to track down the stereo code (good luck), or it's going to be really quiet in there when I'm done! Too bad there's no way to get the stereo to tell you the code...

Yes

always and then if testing system to make sure ribbon is connected you can juice it up again.Radio code if oem radio call dealer or some make you come in with your papers and vin to show it is yours.
nav systems don't need codes.
resync windows after battery disconnect and recenter the steering wheel yaw sensor.

Dim Temp Reading

I was hoping someone would reply to Robrelish's question...

I also have a very dim outside temperature reading. I can read it dimmly at night (All of the pixels are there) and in the day if the shadows are just right.
It seems like just a "back lighting" bulb may be bad?

I have never noticed an incomplete number or symblol. Just very dim...

If I pull the cluster and replace all of the bulbs will the problem be resolved?

Thanks for any help.

Your problem does sound like a lamp gone bad.
