Cell Phone Speaker Sound on Startup

It suddenly dawned on me that I was hearing the sound of a cell phone hands-free speaker squacking a "start-up" sound every time I started the car.

Now, I haven't found a handset cradle, and I don't have the speakerphone/cell phone stalk on the right side of the steering wheel either[:(!]

So, why am I hearing this? Anyone else with this problem?

Mike, It's part of the TeleAid system and happens whether or not you subscribe to TeleAid, which I don't. I found it to be VERY annoying so I disconnected the wires to the speakers.

Where would that connection be? Just curious.

Jason, The TeleAid speakers are located under the grills on the left and right side on the top of the dash. Pulling the wires did not cause any malfunction errors to appear.

I also found the bright, red, in your face SOS/TeleAid switch light distracting, especially at night so I inserted something between the switch and cover.

All poor design IMHO.

RE: Cell Phone Speaker Sound on Startup

Wouldn't TeleAid be more useful - and make more sense for about $10 (or less) a year??

I always wondered who would pay their prices for a service that used on average, what? best case once every three years on average??

Can the speaker grills be popped of to get to the wires? And, here I was thinking those speakers were adding to my stereo experience (or is this red wire just feeding a "squack" to the stereo?

I guess I don't like the idea of laying on my back contorting around the seat to perform microsurgery over my head......

Mike, When you open the front doors, you'll see a panel on both sides of the dash. Pry open the panels and you'll find a screew which secures the grills.
