Hey guys, I just got a 98 E320 with the integrated phone, and Bose stereo. A friend of mine has a 99 E320 stereo, and I was wondering if there were any advantages to swapping with him, and if that would cause any conflicts with my CD changer, or if it would basically be plug and play. Also, I wanted to replace my stock Benz phone from the 98 with something compatible with modern cellular services, since nobody is offering TDMA service anymore. If you guys could give me some advice on the issue, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time
I would not swap radios unless you know that they will work. I have a 2000 e430 and when I added a integrated T-Mobile GSM phone, the dealer had to program the car to tell it that it had a phone and voice recognition.
For the phone, you can keep what you have by adding a www.mikbox.com I have no affiliation, just a satisfied customer. With mikbox, you can basically use whatever telephone you want from the list at the website.
