The battery on my '01 E320 got low/dry, and before I took it out to service and charge, I hooked my jumper battery pack onto the underhood jumpstart points. When the battery was ready I re-installed and didn't have to reset anything. Just be careful with the positive terminal when it's disconnected. I put mine inside a heavy leather glove.
hi!
It was everything ok. although I had had a malfunction in lights system, for 1 month.
However, yesterday, I parked my car and then returned back after 5 minutes to re-start it, but as I turned the electronic key (switched on) , lights turned on and then suddenly all the electricity gone.
Now, I can not even turn the electronic key to other level, say, it is locked and doesn't allow the key to be be switched !
Hi. I had the same issue one month ago. One of my car keys went dead from one they to the other. I was still able yo lock/unlock the car but nothing at all happend when inserting the key in the ignitionlock. I tried my other key and that one was still good. Contacted my local Mercedes store and the only solution was to order a brand new key.......
Thanks that is great info. My cruise control stopped working when I did battery disconnect (change). Is there anything that you know of that I may have to do to get it working again?

So far after disconnecting the battery all is reset except the widows. They go down but only go up after continually pressing the button. Then they go up in small increments. Any suggestions? I was attempting to reset the malfunction display after disconnecting the battery to get rid of a suspected faulty CEL. The CEL went out an I then got a MFD of Antiskid and brake control malfunction. Any ideas in ridding that?
Get the window all the way closed, then hold the switch in the closing position for several seconds. For the anti-skid malfunction, try turning the steering lock-to-lock several times.
