My buddy sold his 01 e and I have a 00e can I get his extra smart key reprogrammed to my car, my dealer said no but I read somewhere that said yes.
I know the metal key itself from one car to another won't work but reprogramming sounds like not a big deal.

RE: Can a smart key be reprogrammed to another car?
I heard that it either is not possible or that it is really expensive. If you REALLY need an extra key your best bet is to order one. Last time I heard they run about $250 US from the stealer.

In the early series of key they could be blanked and re-used but that only applies to keys which are done by the dealer. Joe Average doesnt have a hope.
