I just installed the DEPO Projectors last week. I noticed some Clouding/Mild Moisture a day after it rained hard. I thought i have to reseal the whole housing using Silicone. Although we are still experiancing the SoCal winter storms, im glad that mine DOESNT cloud/moist inside anymore[:D]. Im guessing that you have to make sure that the rubber gasket surrounding the lens are properly seated, if this still doesnt solve your problem, you have to reseal the housing edges with Silicone.....BTW, Where did you get your projectors from?
I got my projector headlight off ebay (Pomona). By the way, your projector headlight, is the lens plastic or glass?
My lens is Plastic. Its been raining hard in SoCal for 2 weeks now, and ive never had any lens clouding(very mild) since that initial incident a week ago. I think it is essential that you seat the rubber gasket well, i carefully inspected the DEPO headlights lens before i mounted them and i think they are properly sealed......BTW, I had some mild lens clouding on my VW New Beetle after i replaced the bulbs and dismounted the whole assembly, i decided to tweak the rubber gasket and no more clouding......IMO, All Non Sealed Beam headlights can cloud/moisten inside if the lens arent properly sealed, GASKETS ARENT PROPERLY SEATED TO SEAL.....Considering that the gaskets are new(thick/not yet conformed to shape), making it very hard to seat well on the tight edges where the lens meet the body panels. I suggest you spray the rubber gasket with WD-40 to easily position/seat the rubber between thos tight edges[:)]....If it still doesnt work- use Silicone to reseal.
Unless there has been a design change, the Depo units do not have a gasket surrounding the perimeter of the lens, between lens and housing. It is simply an adhesive which has gaps, hardens when cold and softens when hot. The adhesive is not 100% uniform, nor does it make contact along all of the edge. Therein lies the weakness.
Grab a tube of clear or gray colored silicone and apply a fine bead completely around the external perimeter and that should resolve the fogging and condensation.
ahh! :-) tnx. and to think i took my headlight all apart just to take the photos just to prove this point, too. jk, installing HID projector and didn't want to insert from the back side.
