"Brake Lining Wear"

I have a 1999 E320 and last night a message appeared on my dash that reads "Brake Lining Wear". What exactly does that mean because I went to my owner's manual and it doesn't cross reference that warning message anywhere. Also how grave is this warning and what is the next step?

Thanks in advance.

RE: "Brake Lining Wear"

Believe it means that your brake pads are worn and should be replaced shortly

RE: "Brake Lining Wear"

You have about 2-3MM left on the pads. That equals about 2-3 months left.

RE: "Brake Lining Wear"

Though it may sound odd, the 210's brakes were designed in such a stupud way that when you change the pads you should also change the discs. I tend to change my discs every 2 times I change my pads, as they (discs) tend ot wear pretty fast and cant be remachied (incorrect heat dissipation).
