VW replaced the window regulators of my 98 Beetle(83k mi) for Free! WHY MB CANT FOR US W210 OWNERS??

i have a 98 VW Beetle TDI (daily beater & OH YES, I LOVE MY DIESEL!!) with 83k mi. 2 days ago the driver side window just started sliding down on its own and im unable to raise it back up. No Biggie, i know its a bad window regulator and decided to call my local VW dealer (Commonwealth VW in OC, Ca) for a window regulator to order the part since my car is out of warranty and i am the 2nd owner. This wonderful gentelman from the parts department was quick to point out that VW should fix it for me for Free regardless of the car's year, mileage since there was a "Window Regulator Update" letter sent to all VW Beetle owners. I was quickly transferred to Service and was scheduled for the Free Window Regulator Update in the nearest VW Dealer near my clinic( Puente Hills VW, Ca). This morning i dropped my car off to that VW Dealer, they gave me a shuttle ride to my clinic, they did BOTH Driver and Passenger Window Regulator Update for FREE[:D]....MY POINT: WHY CANT MB NORTH AMERICA DO THE SAME FOR US MB 210 OWNERS WHO ARE PLAGUED WITH THE WINDOW REGULATOR PROBLEM?? The last time i checked my MB,BMW,Porsche,Land Rover is MORE expensive than my Beloved VW Beetle[;)]

Because they don't give a shit. If they did, they would start by doing something to fix their dealer problems. I have never had such bad luck with a dealer as with MB. Service is mediocre to terrible in my experience.

i totally agree Fast. I usually bring my Beetle to an Indy Shop, its my 1st time bringing my Beetle to a VW Dealer for a repair because it is a daily beater, out of warranty(1998 83k mi/2nd Owner). I NEVER thought the VW Window Regulator update is applicable to me bec. im the second owner- ALAS, SUCH GREAT SERVICE BY VW!....ATTN: MB North America, CAN YOU MATCH VW's COMMITMENT TO CLIENT SATISFACTION??[;)]
